Andreas Langer
Fire protection expert and expert in operational safety management
Andreas Langer has been an integral part of LEOMA GmbH for almost 16 years and has extensive experience in the field of operational safety management. He originally wanted to work in chemical analysis and began his career at ThyssenKrupp as a graduate laboratory chemist specialising in X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence, including measurements in total reflection X-ray fluorescence.
Additional studies at the University of Wuppertal to become a qualified safety engineer opened up new career opportunities for him and led him to his current field of work. During this wide-ranging degree programme, he acquired in-depth knowledge of occupational safety, environmental protection, fire protection and radiation protection – skills that he successfully put into practice at the Airbus site in Varel. There, he was in charge of waste and hazardous substance management as well as environmental and authorisation management for almost five years, which awakened his desire to apply this multifaceted subject area across all industries. He finally came to LEOMA GmbH after meeting Dr Kaßner as an AwSV expert.
At LEOMA, Andreas Langer is an expert in the fields of occupational safety, environmental protection and fire protection. For 1.5 years, he has also been an expert in preventive fire protection and an expert in explosion protection, whereby he always sees the totality of these areas as essential for holistic operational safety management. His expertise extends to occupational safety, environmental protection, fire protection, approval procedures and risk analyses – supplemented by dangerous goods management, which he covers for all modes of transport (road, rail, inland and maritime shipping).
After more than 20 years in the industry, his comprehensive qualification portfolio includes, among other things: Occupational health and safety, as an occupational safety specialist, including expertise in noise measurements, as well as an expert in accordance with the Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance, Laser Protection Officer and Radiation Protection Officer. In the field of fire protection, he is a VdS fire protection officer and fire protection manager (CFPA Europe) as well as an expert and specialist planner for preventive fire protection and a specialist for explosion protection.
